Darynn Zimmerhas sung leading contemporary operatic roles in worldpremieres of works by Philip Glass (Hydrogen Jukebox), Anthony Davis (Tania), Daron Hagen (Bandanna), and Greg Pliska (The Secret Garden) with the U.S. and Italian Spoleto Festivals, The American Music Theater Festival in Philadelphia, on Albany Records, and with the Pennsylvania Opera Theater. She recently made debuts in three standard repertory roles: Mimi in La Boheme, with both the San Francisco Lyric Opera, and with Opera Tampa, broadcast on public television with Maestro Anton Coppola, Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus with the Treasure Coast Opera Society, Fort Pierce, Florida, and Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, with the Miami Lyric Opera. She performed Norina in Don Pasquale with the Greensboro Opera, North Carolina, Gilda in Rigoletto, Marguerite in Faust, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, with the Metro Lyric Opera in New Jersey, Melisande in Pelleas et Melisande at the Skylight Opera Theater, Milwaukee, and Poppea, in L’incoronazione di Poppea with the Pennsylvania Opera Theater, Philadelphia. In her South American debut, she performed in Mahler’s Fourth Symphony with the Orquestra Petrobras Sinfonica in Rio de Janeiro. She appeared with Regina Resnik Presents in ‘The Classic Kurt Weill’ in San Francisco, and ‘Covert or Convert’ at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York, also televised, and now on DVD, within “Colors of the Diaspora.”

Ms. Zimmer’s Carnegie Hall debut was as soloist in Mozart’s ‘Great’ Mass in C with David Randolph and the St. Cecilia Chorus and Orchestra. Other notable engagements include those with Marin Alsop and the Concordia Orchestra at the Morgan Library in New York, Paul Nadler and the Southwest Florida Symphony.
